Summary Log - Leg 3

Leg 3 was bittersweet - delight in a siblings' reunion (with Liz's sister Lucille and Tom's sister Elizabeth [Ding]) , and sadness in bidding farewell 5 days later to Ding when news came via email that Tom's mother was fading rapidly. As of this writing, she lingers. We three continued to explore the Broughtons. While it rained almost every day, we kayaked and explored the tidal zones of coves and bays to our hearts' content. Highlights included reading aloud and then talking about it, doing needlework projects, crossword puzzles and computer solitaire, visiting marinas, chatting with very informative locals, native carvers and fellow cruisers, and attending cultural dances and exhibits. The best part was being together. We missed Ding!

Statistics:
Leg 3 stats: 15 days total, 13 travel days (29.9 hours of motoring averaging 2.3 hours per travel day), 192 miles covered at an average speed of 6.4 knots; eight nights in marinas.
