Summary Log - Leg 5

Summary Leg 5. Time spent with lifetime friends is rich indeed! When that time is spent in wilderness, apart from TV, radio, newspapers, and work stress, surrounded by old growth forests, abundant marine life, tides and currents, sun, moon and stars - it is pure gift. We had wonderful nine days in Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, visited two Watchmen Village Sites, and kayaked for hours in several coves. Highlights include our conversations, reading aloud, hearing bird calls, spotting eagles, solitary musings while kayaking, and just plain enjoying each other’s company. Our friends came and went via Moresby Explorers, who provided transport in very fast yet very open boats - an action-packed beginning and end to a serene adventure.

Leg 5 stats: 9 days total, 6 travel days (13.4 hours of motoring averaging 2.2 hours per travel day), 83.2 miles covered at an average speed of 6.2 knots).
