Summary Log - Leg 6

Summary: This was a leg of many contrasting facets. We crossed 100 long miles of Hecate Strait, and dared to transit two short tricky rapids, Kenneth Passage and Stuart Narrows. We were alone a lot, but had two wonderful guests and met many interesting fellow cruisers. We revisited many familiar places, but also chose anchorages that were new to us. We were on Onward, yet Onward is for sale, so much has a poignant feel of “the last time...”. But above all else, we continue to be awestruck by the beauty of this sea, land and sky.

Leg 6 stats: 21 days total, 17 travel days (60.9 hours of motoring averaging 3.6 hours per travel day), 410.7 miles covered at an average speed of 6.7 knots; one night each at the docks of the ShearWater and Sullivan Bay marinas and two nights at the docks of the Port McNeill and Port Hardy Quarterdeck marinas.
