Hanjin Boston Title
North Pacific track

We boarded the Hanjin Boston in Oakland on July 18, 2009, and spent the next 35 days aboard the ship. We criss-crossed the North Pacific  (daily GPS reading outbound)  and called at  ports  in South Korea (Busan twice & Kwangyang), Taiwan (Kaohsiung) and China (Yantian [near Hong Kong] and Shanghai).

You might ask: why? The question has many answers. We love the sea, but would not cross the vast North Pacific by ourselves. We watch container ships come and go under the Golden Gate Bridge, and wonder what life aboard is like. Globalization dominates our world, and much of the world's goods go by container on ship, rail and truck. We wanted to experience freighters firsthand.
