on the Teslin River in 1982

In adjoining slip,
rusting nail heads mimic the name.

Approaching Dodd Narrows (between Vancouver Island & Gabriola Island),
first (12 knots at mid-tide) of five rapids on this leg,
to be transited only at slack water, which we did - natch!

Across the Strait of Georgia,
on Sechelt Penninsula,
a friendly crabber in Madiera Marina
with a name to match.

Pender Harbor, BC

Whether in the pilot house or on the fly bridge, Tom has his charts at the ready.

At a flat calm, in Desolation Sound,
heading for Squirrel Cove.

You say - you can't see anything?
Neither could we.
Encountering dense fog in Forward Harbour
by Hardwicke Island.

We met a native fisherman
smoking some salmon
for Sunday dinner
in Alert Bay, BC
on Cormorant Island.

We also met
a native canoe carver
with a half-finished
40' dugout canoe
in his breezeway
in Alert Bay, BC
on Cormorant Island.
